This book returns to the readers the poetry of Tirza Atar in its full scope. Ether, a gifted and versatile poet and songwriter, published three books of poetry during her short life and a fourth book was found after her death ready for publication. Apart from them, she composed dozens of hymns, some of which were composed and are loved to this day (including "Ahabtia," "A Ballad for a Woman," "I Dream of Naomi," "A Song for a Holiday Eve" and more). The book brings together all the lyrical poetry of Tirza Ether and a large part of her hymns. It includes many stored songs and hymns, which are their first publication. It presents her poetic work in its full scope and beauty and thus invites us, some forty years after Ether's death, to become familiar with her work and read it with a fresh contemporary eye. This is an invitation to get to know a rich and important link in Hebrew poetry. The book is accompanied by a comprehensive afterword by the book's editor. Tirza Ether was born in Tel Aviv in 1941. She was the daughter of the theater actress Rachel Marcus and the poet Natan Alterman. In her youth she was involved in acting, but over the years she concentrated exclusively on writing, and this included many aspects: singing, singing, writing for children, short stories, plays and translation. Tirach Ether was a mother of two children. In 1977 she found her death by falling from the window of her house, and she is only thirty-six years old.
