The "Sefroni" series by Tzvia Wilensky (Zimzon Publishing). The series consists of 96 short booklets divided into 6 series. Each series adds a different movement, with the first series (red) beginning with a pinch and open. Words that the child cannot read appear as a picture and the child says what he sees.
Each booklet consists of a cover page with a picture and the name of the story (3 or 4 words). Start with the drawing and show the child that what is written also appears in the drawing. The first few times it can take ten minutes just to explain one word. Don't despair, it's a perfectly normal pace for the first time.
The series is very structured. The inside of the booklet consists of two pages, facing each other, each with six lines and each line with only three or four words. The advantage is that in every book the words repeat themselves and you can also read a word, a line, two, a page or the whole book with the child.
