Hadar Goldin, 23, fell as an officer during Operation Tzuk Eitan in the summer of 2014, in an operation to locate tunnels intended to harm Israeli citizens. After his death, he was kidnapped to the Gaza Strip, and as of this writing, he has not yet been returned. His family found writings that he left behind, and among them his numerous comments to the book 'Mesilat Isharim', written in a small and dense handwriting, stand out in particular. The comments are full of insights and personal lessons that he tried to apply in his life, in a huge personal claim to an idealistic and exalted life. "In life," said Hadar, "you have two options: to busy yourself or to do great things." Anyone who approaches to study the book in company with Hadar cannot help but stick to his ambitions, follow his ways and also engage in constant self-improvement. This book is the fruit of the study and action of a boy who is building the plans to prepare for his life. A great soul is needed for this effort, great courage to face and tremendous determination to build a life.
